GENERAL COMMENTS:

Cash cattle trade remains at a standstill. According to the closing report, the Iowa hog base closed $0.83 higher compared with the Prior Day settlement ($67.00-76.00, weighted average $74.87). Corn futures closed 3 to 6 1/2 higher.

LIVE CATTLE:

Futures closed higher, up 45 to 62. Live cattle futures posted solid gains Tuesday, but were unable to hang onto the momentum seen through early trade.
