Believe me, I'm not a libertarian kind of guy. It's fine that some are convinced society and the economy should be essentially self-regulating. They are certainly entitled to their selective opinions of rugged individualism and bootstrap responsibility.

Ron and Rand Paul are probably known as great neighbors, eager to lend a non-mandated hand whenever needed. And maybe I've been too quick in dismissing the "me-first" charm of Ayn Rand.
