Russia, Ukraine Exports Up

MOSCOW (Dow Jones) -- Russia's grain exports between July 1 2013, the beginning of the current marketing year, and Jan. 13 totaled 16.384 million metric tons, 26% more than in the corresponding period in the previous marketing year, the federal statistics service said Monday.

In 2013 Russia harvested 89.3 million metric tons of grain in clean weight, 30% more than in 2012, when 68.7 million tons were harvested because crops were damaged by drought.

Russia's grain exports in the 2012-2013 marketing year fell to 15.69 million tons from 27.2 million tons in the previous marketing year.
