Strategie Trims Wheat Estimate

LONDON (Dow Jones) -- Strategie Grains Thursday trimmed its estimate for the European Union's 2013-14 soft wheat harvest by 1.1 million metric tons, to 131.2 million tons, due to wet weather in the U.K. and lower acreage in France.

The influential analyst group said continuous rains have further limited winter wheat plantings in the U.K., while new information from its sources has led to a reduced estimate for soft wheat acreage in France.

It reduced the two countries' combined production forecast by 1.4 million tons compared with last month.
