MARKET SUMMARY

MGEX wheat closed mostly higher, corn closed lower (old crop) and steady to higher (new crop), soybeans ended lower while canola also finished lower.

OUTSIDE MARKETS

In mid-day trade, the TSX is up 43 points to 13,924, with higher gold and oil prices supporting trade. The Canadian dollar is 16 basis points higher at $.9089 CAD/USD, while the U.S. dollar index is 0.066 higher at 80.770. Gold is $4.80/ounce higher at $1,294.40/ounce. Crude oil is 30 cents higher at $100.24/barrel, while Brent crude is 8 cents higher at $108.60/barrel.
