OUTSIDE MARKETS

The Canadian TSX equity index is currently 49.87 points lower at 12,725.41. The European Union reported their third consecutive quarter of contraction for the last quarter of 2012, with GDP declining 0.6% as compared to the previous quarter which fell 0.1%. Canadian corporate earnings were mixed today, while mixed commodity trade has also weighed on Canada's resource market. The Canadian dollar is up 5 basis points, while the U.S. dollar is 0.373 higher at 80.540. Gold is $9.40/ounce lower at $1,635.70/ounce. NYMEX crude is up 28 cents to $97.29/barrel, while Brent crude is 11 cents higher at $117.99/barrel. ...
