Outside Markets

Asian markets are trading mixed Monday, with Japan's Nikkei closing 1.2% higher, reaching its highest close since late 2007. European markets are trading lower. The TSX closed 45.19 higher Friday, ending the session at 12,589.09. In overnight trade, Dow futures are 43 points lower, which may lead to a weak open in North American equities. The Canadian dollar is 6 basis points higher at $.9886 CAD/U.S. dollar, while the U.S. dollar is .016 lower at 83.215. Gold is $5.60/ounce lower at $1,431/ounce. Crude oil is 83 cents lower at $95.21/barrel, while Brent crude is $1.23 lower at $102.69/barrel. ...
