Outside Markets

Asian markets are mixed Friday. Japan's Nikkei closed 2.9% higher to close at 14,607.54. European markets are also higher. Canada's TSX closed at 12,543.90, up 41.15, in Thursday's trade. In overnight trade, the Dow is trading 64 points higher, which should lead to a firm open in North American equities. The Canadian dollar is 13 basis points higher at $.9920 CAD/U.S. dollar, while the U.S. dollar is .185 higher at 83.060. Gold is $32.80/ounce lower at $1,435.80/ounce lower.
