Outside Markets

Asian markets closed higher Thursday following strong gains in North American markets from Wednesday. The Nikkei in Japan climbed 2.7%. European markets also climbed after the EU central bank pledged that their stimulus measures would continue, which investors like to hear. Canada's TSX closed 71.95 higher Wednesday to end at 12,732.39. The Dow futures climbed 16 basis points to end at 14,076. The Canadian dollar is 7 basis points lower at $.9760 CAD/U.S. dollar, while the U.S. dollar itself is .028 higher at 81.7. Gold is $6.50/ounce lower at $1,589.20/ounce. Crude oil is 8 cents lower at $92.68/barrel. ...
