Outside Markets

Asian markets were mostly higher in Wednesday's trade. Ben Bernanke of the U.S. Federal Reserve announced Tuesday that the stimulus measures in the U.S. will continue, which markets love to hear. Japan's Nikkei, however, did lose 1.3% due to a rise in the yen. European markets traded mixed, with concerns of their own debt crisis weighing on investor's sentiments. Toronto's TSX gained 9.57 points to close at 12,660.44 in Tuesday's trade. Dow futures are down 1 point overnight, which may lead to a weaker open in North American markets Wednesday.
