GENERAL COMMENTS:

Triple-digit losses are seen throughout the livestock market with contracts quickly giving back strong morning gains as buyer support seemed to be extremely short lived and shallow. Live cattle futures are most intensely affected with August futures currently holding losses of $2.60 per cwt, and given the wild range through the session could easily close down the daily trading limit of $3 per cwt before the end of the session. Corn futures are lower at midday. September corn futures are 9 cents per bushel lower. Stock markets are higher in light trade. The Dow Jones is 34 points ...
