DECATUR, Ill. (DTN) -- A popular Facebook picture circulating on agriculture posts depicts a motorboat pulling a planter. Unfortunately, the situation is all too real for farmers such as Steve Hawkins, Cameron, Ill. His fields have endured 6.5 inches of rain in less than a week and the rain was still coming when he talked to DTN Friday.

Parts of the Midwest that couldn't buy a raindrop last year are now enduring a deluge. Growers who once thirsted for drought hybrids are worried about how the stands they did get planted will endure saturated soils.
