In the hustle and bustle of fast-moving markets, monthly price charts are often overlooked. Back in the day these long-term looks at price movement over time were held in much higher esteem. Technical analysis books were filled with statements similar to "a technical pattern is more important if it occurs on a monthly chart." But in today's world of flash trading and instantaneous news, monthly charts (and those who analyze them, ahem) are viewed as dinosaurs.
