OMAHA (DTN) -- A mild trend for Midwest crop progress, and minimal rain benefit in the Southern Plains, are the primary weather items for the commodity trade's attention Wednesday.

FAVORABLE MIDWEST TREND

The DTN ag weather forecast calls for mostly favorable conditions in the Midwest for crop development and completion of spring planting. A somewhat drier outlook for northern crop areas should help improve conditions, especially with warmer weather. Higher temperatures and a few scattered thunderstorms elsewhere in the region favors development of earlier-planted crops and the winter wheat crop as well.
