OMAHA (DTN) -- Heavy rain ahead for the Midwest, along with very light rain chances for the southwestern Plains are the primary weather items for the commodity trade's attention Tuesday.

HEAVY EASTERN MIDWEST RAIN

The DTN ag weather forecast calls for heavy rainfall in the southern and eastern Midwest and Delta regions during the next three to four days. This likely will hamper spring fieldwork, especially planting prospects in the Delta. The pattern after that is also somewhat wetter and cooler than normal for the region.
