OMAHA (DTN) -- A new round of Arctic cold in the central U.S. and uncertain rain benefit in Argentina are the primary weather items for the commodity trade's attention Friday.

COLD AND DRY MIDWEST PATTERN

The DTN ag weather forecast calls for very cold conditions in the Midwest early next week, but not cold enough to harm soft red winter wheat. However, a secondary surge next weekend may be somewhat more threatening. Western Midwest and Northern Plains areas will also see periods of strong winds causing some transportation issues, especially where snow squalls develop.
