Scattered showers and thunderstorms occurred Thursday through the western Midwest and the southeast Plains region. Light rain or showers was reported through the northeast Plains area during the day. Mainly dry elsewhere in the key U.S. and Canadian Prairies crop areas Thursday. Temperatures ranged from the 50s in the Canadian Prairies and the Northern Plains to the 90s in the southeast U.S.
