Partly to mostly cloudy, windy and cool across most of the Plains and Midwest at midday Wednesday with some light rain over eastern portions of the Northern Plains, the western Midwest and the Great Lakes region. Partly cloudy skies and windy across Texas and the lower Mississippi River valley. Some showers and thunderstorms linger in the Southeast states. Temperatures are in the upper 30s and 40s in the Northern Plains and Upper Midwest , the 50s to low 60s in the Southern Plains and southern Midwest, and the 60s to low 70s in the deep south.
