Light to moderate rain showers were featured Thursday afternoon in the central and northeastern Midwest, with the greatest intensity in northern Michigan. Otherwise, conditions were dry across the primary U.S. and Canadian Prairie crop regions. Temperatures ranged from the low 40s in southern Manitoba to the upper 80s across western and southern Texas. Values in the low 80s were noted as far north as St. Louis, Mo.
