Light to moderate snow was noted in the western and central Plains through the western and northern Midwest Friday afternoon. An area of rain showers was also featured in the southeastern Plains, and a rain and snow storm covered much of California. Other primary U.S. and Canadian Prairie crop regions were dry. Temperatures ranged from the minus-teens in south-central Saskatchewan to the mid-80s in central and southern Texas.
