Moderate to heavy snow, ice and rain is expected during Wednesday through the southeast U.S. region and into the east-central U.S. areas. This likely means major delays to transportation in the area. A light mix of snow and ice is occurring as far west as the Delta region early this morning. This area should trend drier during the day. A weak trough will spread some light snow or snow showers into the northern Midwest, dry elsewhere in key U.S. and Canadian crop and livestock areas Wednesday.
