Scattered light snow was noted in the eastern Midwest Wednesday afternoon and light snow also developed in the Texas Panhandle and far southwestern Plains. Temperatures ranged from the teens below zero in central Montana to the mis-60s in central South Carolina.

Thursday will be mostly dry and very cold with precipitation showing up in the form of light snow in the far Southern Plains of Oklahoma through west-central Texas. The very cold conditions will continue to disrupt transportation along with stressing livestock.
