A mix of light rain and uncommon freezing precipitation was noted in the far southeastern U.S. Wednesday afternoon. Otherwise, conditions were in the primary U.S. and Canadian Prairie crop regions. Very cold air remained in place in much of the central and eastern U.S. while notable warming developed in the western Plains. Temperatures ranged from the teens in the Great Lakes and Canadian Prairies to the low 50s in the Nebraska panhandle.
