A wintry mix of precipitation covered much of the eastern Midwest, with rain showers noted in the Delta Thursday afternoon. Other primary U.S. and Canadian Prairie crop regions were dry. Temperatures ranged from the single digits in the southern Prairies and the northern Great Lakes to the low 70s in far southern Texas.

Friday will feature rain showers in the southeastern Plains, southern Midwest and the Southeast.
