Moderate to heavy rain covered the southwestern and eastern Midwest, Delta, and the Texas-Louisiana coastal bend Thursday afternoon. Severe weather potential was also a feature in southern Louisiana and southern Mississippi. Dry conditions were in effect over the rest of the primary U.S. and Canadian Prairie crop regions. Temperatures ranged from the mid-30s in western and northern Minnesota to the mid-80s in south Texas.
