Rain and drizzle occurred Monday in the southern Canadian Prairies and the Northern Plains of the U.S. Wet conditions in these locations had likely affected harvest activities. Light to moderate rain also occurred in Michigan Monday. A few showers were noted in southern Illinois and the northeast Delta. Mostly dry elsewhere in the key U.S. and Canadian Prairies crop areas Monday. Temperatures ranged from the 70s across the Canadian Prairies and the Northern Plains of the U.S. to 101 degrees Fahrenheit in parts of the central Plains and western Midwest regions.
