Friday weather features light rain in the southeastern Plains and light to locally heavy rainfall in the southeast U.S. Other primary crop areas in the U.S. and Canadian Prairies will be dry. Conditions will again be cool in the Midwest, but a strong warming trend will be noted in the northwestern Plains and Prairies. The warmer conditions will favor crop progress, and will spread into the Midwest during next week. There is also very little follow-up rain in the dry areas of the western Midwest after a round of showers this week.
