Light rain showers are in store for the western Midwest Monday, and showers with light to locally moderate rain will occur in the eastern Midwest and Southeast. The rest of the primary U.S. and Canadian Prairie crop regions will be dry. Temperatures will vary from seasonally warm in the northern Plains and Midwest to hot in the southern Plains. Weekend rain was less than expected in many areas, particularly in the western Midwest. This combination will stress crops and pastures in the Southern Plains, while providing some favorable conditions in the eastern Midwest.
