Scattered light to moderate rain showers were noted in the central and eastern Midwest Tuesday afternoon and scattered thunderstorms were also featured in the Southeast. A swath of moderate to locally heavy rain spanned the breadth of the Canadian Prairies as well, and the Pacific Northwest interior recorded moderate rain showers. Dry conditions were observed in other major U.S. and Canada crop areas. Temperatures ranged from the mid-60s in the southwestern Prairies to the upper 90s in southwestern Kansas through the Oklahoma and Texas Panhandles.
