Showers with light to moderate rain will cover much of the northern Midwest Friday, as well as in the southern Midwest, Ohio Valley, Tennessee Valley and Delta. The rest of the primary U.S. and Canadian Prairie crop regions will be dry. Temperatures will be warm, with stressful heat of 100 F-plus in the Texas Panhandle through West Texas. This pattern will mostly favor row crop planting except for areas with rain. Meanwhile, continued stress and deterioration to wheat and pastures is in store for the southwest Plains.
