Friday will feature light to moderate snow across the northern, western and central Midwest, with a mix of freezing precipitation and rain in the eastern Midwest. In the Plains, drier conditions will allow for clean-up efforts following heavy snow Wednesday and Thursday. Actual precipitation in the northern Midwest from this storm system will be negligible due to the likelihood of snow melt and runoff into streams and rivers rather than infiltration into the soil profile. Temperatures will be cold but not bitter cold, which will benefit the post-storm recovery.
