Light to locally moderate snow moved through eastern areas of the Midwest region early Friday. Snow and some freezing rain moved across the Appalachian mountain chain and into the eastern U.S. Friday. Mainly dry elsewhere in the key U.S. and Canadian Prairies crop and livestock areas. Temperatures ranged from below zero in the eastern Prairies to near 80 in south Texas and south Florida.
