A mix of light rain and freezing precipitation will move across the northern Midwest Thursday. This moisture will offer very little improvement in drought conditions. Elsewhere, we'll again see a dry pattern. Forecast maps feature increasing showers in the eastern Midwest Friday.

Highs: Teens/20s Prairies; 30s/40s Northern Plains, northern and eastern Midwest; 50s central and southwestern Plains, western, central and southern Midwest; 60s Texas Panhandle, southeastern Plains, Delta, Southeast; 70s western, northern, central and southeastern Texas, Deep South; 80s south Texas.
