Nebraska state climatologist Al Dutcher has some disagreements with predictions of "equal chance" winter temperature and precipitation for the central U.S. His comments have some interesting details.--Bryce

The December forecast, released Thursday by the U.S. Climate Prediction Center, shows Nebraska with equal chances for above, below, or normal precipitation and temperatures. However, based on recent trends, I wouldn’t be surprised if Nebraska sees below normal temperatures and normal to above normal precipitation in December.

Nationally, the CPC December forecast is showing below normal temperatures for the northern half of Montana and North Dakota and above normal temperatures ...
