The northern branch of the jet stream features a weak blocking ridge over northeast Siberia. A trough over northern Canada centered over northwest Canada. A weak trough over Greenland. And a blocking ridge to the north of Scandanavia. This is currently a cool/col pattern for parts of centrral Canada, mild in the west and east. The southern branch of the jet features a strong ridge over the eastern pacific and western U.S. And a trough over the central and eastern U.S. Subtropical high pressure is located over the north-central Caribbean.
