METEOROLOGICAL DISCUSSION

The northerrn branch of the jet stream features some weak ridging over Alaska. And a series of troughs across northern Canada and Greenland. This is a mild/cool pattern for Canada. The southern branch of the jet featues some ridging in the Gulf of Alaska/eastern pacific. A trough over the western and central U.S. And a ridge over the eastern U.S. and western atlantic. Subtropcal high pressure is located over the northern Caribbean, southeast Gulf of Mexico and southwest atlantic.
