METEOROLOGICAL DISCUSSION

The northern branch of the jet features some ridging over northeast Siberia. A weak trough over Alaska. And the polar vortex over northern Canada and Greenland centered over north-central and northeast Canada. This is mild/warm pattern for most of southern Canada at this time. The southern branch of the jet features a ridge over the eastern pacific extending into southwest Canada and the northwest US. A trough over California. A weak ridge over the central US.
