Corn Planting Into Dust

FLOYDADA, Texas (DTN) -- Soil continues to blow in the Texas Panhandle. On some days Floydada, Texas, producer Dane Sanders struggles to get much done in the field.

Historically, Sanders' fields receive an average of about 18 inches of annual moisture. They've struggled with an average 6 inches in each of the past three years. It snowed a bit in November and December last year, but the last good rainfall came last September on his farm.
