OMAHA (DTN) -- Cover crops are hot. Their role in soil conservation, nutrient scavenging and recycling (particularly picking up nitrates), boosting soil biology, suppressing weeds while protecting the soil, and providing forage for grazing are well-established.

However, the most frequently asked question from growers is not how to grow these crops, but rather, how to kill them.
