Hungry World Needs Healthy Soil

OMAHA (DTN) -- As the United Nations Food and Agricultural Organization officially recognizes World Soil Day on Thursday, more U.S. groups are highlighting the importance of this vital resource.

World Soil Day has been held every Dec. 5 since 2002 when the International Union of Soil Sciences made a resolution proposing its creation. The FAO passed a resolution earlier this year to formally recognize World Soil Day and various U.S. groups are marking it in different ways.
