Ethanol futures drew additional support Friday following firming moves in RBOB gasoline contracts as well as aggressive gains in corn prices. Nearby corn futures posted a 9 cent per bushel rally at the end of the trading session. This helped to put more emphasis on the potential of higher production costs through the spring and summer months. March ethanol futures posted strong gains of 4.5 cents per gallon, closing at $2.278 a gallon. But the moves in the front-month contracts lagged the optimistic buying support in other nearby contracts. April futures led the market higher, gaining 8.4 cents per gallon. ...
