Ethanol futures remained lightly traded Friday with light losses developing in front month futures based on pressure in corn prices. Weakness in front-month corn prices led to a 1 cent loss in March ethanol futures, slipping to $2.06 a gallon. The price spread between March and April contracts is slowly narrowing, but unchanged price moves through other nearby contracts could create additional uncertainty in the complex. Traders are looking for additional direction through the end of the month with the focus now being placed on future movements in gasoline demand.
