Ethanol futures posted strong gains Tuesday despite the lack of significant movement in the corn market. Corn futures ended mixed within a fractional range after giving back narrow gains earlier in the session. What used to be a volatile corn market as of late seemed to more resemble life in a senior center where things move at a slower pace. But ethanol futures have found new life based on aggressive shifts in crude oil futures and the political implications of advancements in the farm bill legislation.
