Ethanol futures posted light losses early in the week with very little direction seen in ethanol markets despite the continued pressure in corn futures. Front-month corn futures posted a double-digit loss of 14 cents per bushel. October ethanol contracts closed at $1.88 per gallon, after a loss of 0.5 cents per gallon. Other contracts fell 0.6 to 1.1 cents per gallon as traders focus on the lack of support through the corn market. Even if additional pressure is seen in ethanol inventory, the expected losses in demand will likely keep traders on the defensive.
