Ethanol futures posted moderate gains early in the week following a strong double-digit rally in the corn market. Front-month futures posted a gain of 1.8 cents per gallon with ethanol futures closing at $2.247 a gallon. The lack of additional gains Monday was limited by pressure in the energy markets. October contracts only managed to post 0.2-cent-per-gallon gains. All other contracts rallied 1 to 2.4 cents per gallon higher with the focus not only on the higher corn prices but on future demand.
