Ethanol futures posted sharp losses Tuesday following double-digit losses in the corn futures market. September corn fell 18 cents per bushel on Tuesday. This left both nearby and deferred ethanol futures under pressure. The front-month August contract posted a 5.8-cent-per-gallon loss. This pushed prices to $2.372 per gallon. Other nearby and deferred futures posted 3.1- to 4-cent-per-gallon losses Tuesday as traders are concerned about future demand for ethanol.
