Ethanol futures posted strong gains following firm buyer support in the corn futures market on Tuesday. The aggressive shift in momentum following early week pressure in corn markets seems to have uncovered additional buyer support through all nearby ethanol contracts. Front-month August posted a 5.9-cent-per-gallon rally. This pushed contracts to $2.55 per gallon, which widened the spread on front-month contracts as traders still focus on tight supplies. All other nearby and deferred futures posted gains of 2 to 4.7 cents per gallon Tuesday.
