The ethanol market stayed away from the wild ride that corn took with very thin trading volume for Friday, but cash ethanol prices did end the day lower. The July futures closed at $2.453 per gallon, August closed at $2.343 per gallon and September futures closed at $2.217 per gallon. The inverted market for the rest of the 2013 trading months shows that demand is still firm nearby as stocks dropped last week even as production rose.
