Ethanol futures seemed to defy the odds Friday with light buyer surfacing through all nearby contracts despite pressure in surrounding markets. Traders are looking for some sense of stability, and even though corn and RBOB gasoline markets eroded Friday, traders focused on potential demand support through the next several months. With production likely to remain well below last year and the recent reduction of inventory, there is going to be additional demand for ethanol no matter if gasoline demand sees strong growth or not.
