Ethanol futures posted moderate to sharp losses Thursday following strong downward movement in the corn and RBOB gasoline markets. Corn futures prices slipped from 9 to 11 cents with consistent pressure seen through the entire complex. Nearby ethanol futures posted 2.8 to 4.8 cents per gallon with front-month July futures falling 3.5 cents per gallon and closing at $2.45 a gallon. The most significant losses were seen in the August futures as concern of summer demand for gasoline and ethanol may start to erode due to overall market pressure.
